Who are we and what do we do?

We are a registered charity called 'Memory Makers - Care and Dreams', number 1206132.

We aim to provide a fun and active environment for our elderly.

This covers social groups, days out, or maybe even a visit from a therapy pet to brighten a loved one's day.
The ethos is that it's about making memories; age is just a number.

We are also looking to hire out mobility equipment on request.

What plans do we have?

Fundraising Goals

Wheelchair-accessible vehicle
Our immediate plans are to start raising money for the purchase and running of a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
Staff members are currently driving to pick up people who would like to attend the social group. Being able to pick up additional people en route with a single driver would be fantastic.
This will also help open up the world to those otherwise stuck at home for other activities or wishes.
Mobility Equipment purchase
Mobility issues may be new for you or maybe you wouldn't usually require additional equipment. An example of this could be you would like to attend a day trip with us, but you don't usually get out much, so lack the mobility equipment. You may need to hire a walking frame, a wheelchair or some crutches due to a last minute injury. We will endeavour to make these available on request so you can still attend and enjoy your day. The hire money can be put back towards the purchase of additional mobility equipment.
Storage location
As we obtain additonal mobility, jumble sale and raffle items, we are going to need somewhere to store them. Being able to cover the on-going storage costs will ensure we have enough room.

It's not just about donating money; perhaps you have some items you wish to be donated for our raffles or jumble sales.

Any donations of mobility equipment would be greatly appreciated. These will be safety checked, cleaned, and put straight back out to be used for helping others.

Donations can be accepted via BACS, at a post office or in branch.
